I’m running the AMD Phenom II 965 Quad core (3.4 Ghz stock) with Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 SLI and i can run Crysis on Very High with no frame rate issues what so ever, why would i want an intel when it does exactly what i want gaming wise for like £400 cheaper. kbaithnx.

I use both intel and AMD. so no argument here.

At the end of the video, he looked at the roof, like thinking:
i think i forgot how to blink.
January 23, 2011
i’d recommend you to at least, blink from 1 to 2 times for each video.

Amd 1100t vs the 980x… I will take the 1100t because there is not that much performance increase from the 980x. If I am going to pay that much money on an intel I expect a better processor than intel offers

intel was smart with their i5 series.. the i5 750, a good quality 4 core processor for $200
at a standard 2.66ghz it works very well stock, but it can be ramped up to 4.0ghz very easily

@NocturnalFoster I think I worded this wrong. “Unless you are using aiming to use it on some large-scale work in Auto Cad or you are into overclocking(oc). Then you should probably pick the cheaper one.”
What I meant was if you aren’t using your computer for stuff like that. Then you should probably go with the AMD.
January 23, 2011
@NocturnalFoster Hope this helps some people find resolve.
January 23, 2011
@NocturnalFoster Unless you are using aiming to use it on some large-scale work in Auto Cad or you are into overclocking(oc). Then you should probably pick the cheaper one. Because with the right setup. They are both good enough to play all your games out there atm at maxed settings.
Either than what I just said. If that isn’t good enough for you, and a financially outlook on the topic doesn’t resolve your answers. Then just continue pick based on preference of interest and duke it out! lol
January 23, 2011
@NocturnalFoster They both have the tools to play games at the highest peak. So if you are buying one for just games. Ask yourselves this, “Do I need to spend a extra two or three hundred dollars for a processor that can do the same thing as its adversary?” ”
Also you should question what use will you get out of the hyper-threading?

Here is my take on the whole AMD & Intel thing.
Both good cpu’s and should be looked at for realistic preferences.
Intel – A hyper-threaded processor. Buyers should get this if they intend to do more than just play games on their computers. Like use it as a work station.
AMD – Quad core competitor lacking the hyper-threading. Enough said. Still good for gaming.

Intel isn’t just cpus, their game is equally selling chipsets. They change sockets often so motherboard makers buy another chipset to sell you. If you’re lucky and buy a low level Intel cpu during first tech it may have a useful upgrade path, but usually not, usually it’s 200% more money for 20% more speed. I just upgraded my 6 year old AMD system to a new 2010 cpu, more than quadrupling my speed for $150 and didn’t buy a new motherboard.

So does this guy blink at all??
January 23, 2011
@cyberhmoob Hmm… An i7 980x or a Phenom X6 and a 52″ TV… I don’t know what to choose! D:

@slashBR1751 My i5 Laptop is faster than your AMD DESKTOP. That’s a true story.
January 23, 2011
@juangta117 Married and get it every night so INTEL is the way top go for me:)
January 23, 2011
@mrjamesb562 Screw budget debates. I’m a HIGH END guy that wants the best and intel IS FAST!
January 23, 2011
I use them both and I have a few things to say about them. AMD my apps have never really been able to fully use the CORES. Even games tend to be 2 core-ish.
My Intel i7 my apps use all the cores fully and you can see it being maxed when it’s in heavy usage. HyperThread pumps processes into the cores like crazy.
I run multiple VST’s in my multi track programs and AMD hit a brick wall at 65%. It maxes 100% after that easily and my sound crackles.
I run the same on my Intel and it’s flawless.

if I had a choice between any choice on 920-960 or a 1090t i’d go for the 1090t because in benches the dont have a difference for the 100-200 pricee difference… but for the top end i’d go with my 980x… anybody who would take a 920 over a 1090 is a fanboy imo…
January 23, 2011
@juangta117 XD awsome comment made my day
January 23, 2011
No overclocking. Gaming + video editing: Intel i7-950 or AMD Phenom x6 1090t?
